Poem to the Chairman
To the Chairman
Having traveled near and far,
Only hoping to be where you are.
Navigating by car, ship and train,
Over smooth and rough terrain.
Realizing it was my duty to be,
In the place my chairman chose for me.
No celebration could be complete,
Guiding me only to my chairman's feet.
Now I sit on a train going at a snails pace,
On the day of your birthday, what a race!
Riding across the country to honor you,
My body is tired there's a hole in my shoe.
Although I'll never be there on time,
Norman, my best wishes to you fills my mind.
Happy Birthday
