Poem to the Chairman

Oh Chairman my Chairman
Your birthday came fast this year
I didn’t heed your message
To get a plane seat I fear.

588 people beat me on the list
I read these words and cried.
This was my hear to join you
I had put my travel plans aside.

Then I saw the special message
I could fly on our President’s plane,
I thought of our country’s debts
And really couldn’t spend Obama’s change.

So instead of a trip to Italy
To be a part of the celebration,
I’ll tell 6000 Allure passengers
To raise a glass to you on this occasion.

84 is really a great number,
But 85 is much better.
So I hope next year to say
Happy Birthday in person not in a letter.

A Poem to the Chairman

Dear Chairman,

Again this year I am
sailing the seas.
Your offer of plane fare
put me into a squeeze.

If I really want
to be with you,
the offer of air fare
is something I might do.

Then I saw the catch
as plain as could be,
no offers of free air
from Venice, Italty to DC.

Since I won’t be there
I have a suggestion to make:
There is a space on
Mount Rushmore you can take.

Alas, I can see
we have something to fear
with your face so perfect
they won’t let you near.

But first as I see it
something the corporation must do,
chip in some cash
for a nose job for you.

Your nose it seems
is much too small
to join all those faces
on the monument wall.

My vote for a new nose,
I pass on the way,
and I will donate leftover Euros
to wish you a Happy Birthday.
